dharmadEvata ( 1952 )
Summary
The story is about a kind hearted mother Kathyayini (Santa Kumari) who protects and rears the child daughter Swarna (Baby Saraswati) of an eccentric and cruel king Veerasen (lingamUrti) who orders death to Kathyayini's husband and her young son Gopal (Master Mohan) on silly accusations. Swarna will be abducted by Kathyayini's brother Raghunathaverma (Mukkamala) and brought to Kathyayini with intention of avenging the king's action. Kathyayini takes pity on Swarna and secrectly moves away from her brother and brings up the child as her own. Kathyayini's own son will be saved secretly by a kind-hearted servant of the king. At the end, the king, after knowing how his daughter was protected with motherly love, realises the magnanimity of Kathyayini and calls her as Dharmadevatha. The story ends happily with the wedding of Kathyayini's son and the king's daughter.
