    Commentary: V. Chitoori nAgayya.

Probably the best musical film ever made in Telugu. The well-known poet dEvulapalli kRshNaSaastri made his film debut as lyricist and wrote all the lyrics. B.N.reDDi was life long proud of his master work.
    Anecdote:
President sarvEpalli rAdhAkRshNan: He was invited to watch "mallISwari" and at the end someone praised the film highly and asked sarvEpalli whether he could find a single flaw in it. sarvEpalli replied: "pilachina biguvaTarA pATaku mundu pedda varsham kurisinaTlugA chUpinchAru, kAni taruvAta mAruvEshAllO vunna rAyalu&Co. gur''r''Alapai swAri chEstU veLLEppuDu dhULi legustundi. asamanjasam kadA!"

Though buccibaabu's (real name Sivaraaju venkaTa subbaaraavu) radio play "raayalu vaari karuNakRtyamu" was the basis for malleeSwari, the film credits do not acknowledge him. It is particularly surprising since bucchibaabu and producer director B.N.Reddy were great friends and continued to be so until buccibaabu's death.
