missamma ( 1955 )
Summary
"Missamma" is one of the best social films ever made. To make a movie as entertaining as this one, for today's movie makers, would be a real challenge. The story is about two people -the hero and the heroine- who have to pretend as husband and wife to meet a job condition. They are from different backgrounds and different religions. Eventually, they end up marrying each other.
Everyone in this film has lived their roles. Nageswara Rao's light hearted character as the detective is thoroughly entertaining. Nothing can describe Relangi and Ramanareddy's performances. S.V.RangaRao is brilliant with his oft said "ade ade..." If "Mayabazar" is a flawless mythological film, then "Missamma" is that of a social one. Never to be missed by any generation of movie goers. "Missamma cinema mandutendalo manchu kurisina challadanam isthundi"
