Comments The controversial film IDDARU of whiz-kid director Maniratnam which depicts the bitter rivalry and competition, irreconcilable political differences and friendship at the personal level, of Tamil Nadu's gigantic figures, the later M G Ramachandran and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, will be released in the State on January 18. The roles of MGR and Karunanidhi were played by Prakash Raj and Mohanlal. With the subject of the film being two demi-gods, it was little wonder that their ardent fans threatened to create a law and order problem if the film contained any objectionable references to their respective leaders.
