First fully outdoor film; Saakshi Ranga Rao's debut
(Contributed by Suresh Babu, Chunduru <> sureshbabu@aol.com <> Sweet Home )

Bapu's debut as a director (and hence first from Mullapudi-baapu duo)
Vijaya Nirmala got greater recognition here than in her first contract (but released later) 'bangaaru panjaram'.
Chittaranjan, AIR (Hyderabad Staff Singer) was given the first song - 'yevari vaare...'
Krishna lived up to the expectations by MVR in his role.
MVR first published the story as 'saakshi' in 1959 or earlier in Andhra Patrika.
    Very poor outdoor recording.
This film made Krishna and Vijaya nirmala so close that within next two years they divorced their spouses and got married.

a la Ray - bapu too made his first film with a crew of all new comers to movie industry. He too was originally working with an Ad agency. Ramana who wrote for couple of movies before this (Mooga manasalu, Daagudu Moothalau Gudi gantalu etc..) later wrote for alomost all of Bapu's movies. The exceptions being SriRamanjaneya yuddham (1974), Sri Rajeswari Vilas Coffee club (1976), Sneham (1977), Toorupu velle railu (1980)
