SubhalEkha ( 1982 )
Summary
Chiranjeevi delivers one of his best performances in this movie. Chiranjeevi is a hotel server and a gregarious guy. Sumalatha and Tulasi are sisters. Chiru runs into Sumalatha and both become good friends. Sumalatha's marriage is fixed with an engineer ( elder son of a rich man, Sathyanarayana), but due to dowry conflicts, Sathyanarayana insults Sumalatha and her father. Chiru and Tulasi want to teach him some 'gunapaatham' in their own individual styles. Chiru teases Sathyanarayana with help of the rest of hotel servers only to get beaten up by Sathyanarayana's goondas. Henceforth, Sumalatha starts loving Chiru, though the latter just respects her and believes that she deserves to marry a much better educated man. Tulasi loves Subhalehka Sudhakar, the second son of Sathyanarayana. Unlike his dumb elder brother, S.S. succeeds in getting his father's approval for his marriage. Now Sathyanarayana receives another blow from his elder son, when the latter marries a widow ( Chiru's cousin). Chiru finally marries Sumalatha after a few dramatic twists.
Every artist in the movie acted very well and overall the movie is a very good entertainer and gives some messages to the audience about the contemporary dowry problems.
