a story once told to me about the pallavi of this song. vEtoori sundararaama moorti was looking for his wife at home, and his mother said to him, "dikkulu chooDaku raamayya, pakkane unnadi seetamma" (his wife's name was apparently seeta). that's how that pallavi came about.

A remake of the Hindi 'anaamika'. It was made by the other annapoorNa banner (kraanti kumaar) and directed by raaghavEndra raavu. raaghavEndra raavu's directorial debut, baabu - cost 40 lakhs at that time - was a big bomb as was krantikumaar's oorvasi. They teamed up to make jyOti in 1976, kalpana (1977?) and aame katha (1977?). Those three small budget films starring muraLeemOhan established raaghavEndra raavu as a director with good naarrative skills, and a master at shot taking and song picturization. dikkulu chooDaku raamayya, picturized on jayachitra and muraLeemOhan, was a treat to watch. One of my friends owned the theater in which the movie was playing (Krishna picture palace in Guntur), and our whole gang used to troop into the theater when the song came on.
chakravarti provided music for all the above films, which boast several good songs.
