    This film was a remake of the tamil movie 'China Gounder' with a rustic backdrop. Ilayaraja composed very melodious songs for this movie.

    Follows the Tamil film trend of stories with villages governed by landlord families.

    Venkatesh plays the role of a village judge. The people of his village have immense faith in his judgement. They respect him as their god. Vijayasanthi plays the role of venkatesh's wife. Good music and good photography make this movie watchable. Venkatesh potrays his character to excellence.
